Raiden Resources

Mt Sholl Nickel-Copper-Cobalt-Palladium Project

Located in the Pilbara region, just 22 km from the support city of Karratha, the Mt Sholl project hosts the largest copper-nickel-PGE deposit in the district that has potential for open-pit mining. Extensive historical exploration, as well as through Raiden’s exploration campaigns have defined significant, open pit sulphide resources and upside potential on the project. The next steps for the project are expected to focus on resource expansion and the evaluation of new drill targets.

Location

The Mt Sholl copper-nickel-PGE project is located 22 kilometres southeast of Karratha in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, providing excellent support infrastructure and 10 kilometres northeast of the currently inactive Radio Hill copper-nickel-PGE mine and associated processing infrastructure.

Ownership

The project comprises four exploration licences and 10 prospecting licences covering a land area of approximately 42km2 and 100% owned by Raiden’s wholly-owned subsidiary Pilbara Gold Corporation.

In December 2023 Raiden signed a Memorandum of Understanding with First Quantum Minerals Australia Ltd (FQMA), in which FQMA is conducting due diligence on the Mt Sholl Project with an option to sole fund exploration up to a decision to mine to earn 70% of the project, with Raiden’s 30% interest free-carried.

The involvement of FQMA provides Raiden with world-class technical input into the ongoing exploration and evaluation of the Mt Sholl project.

Highlights

The Mt Sholl property is located just 10 kilometres northeast of the Radio Hill nickel-copper-PGE mine and associated processing infrastructure. Licences cover part of the Mount Sholl layered mafic-ultramafic intrusive complex, which hosts widespread Ni-Cu-PGE mineralisation in disseminated to matrix and stringer sulphides. Over 250 holes have been drilled across the property, with multiple significant Ni-Cu-PGE intercepts returned. Trial mining was undertaken at Sholl B1 by Fox Resources, where 25,000 tons of ore was processed using a pilot heap leach plant at Radio Hill.

Geology and Mineralisation

The Mt Sholl project covers a significant part of the Mount Sholl layered mafic-ultramafic intrusive complex, which hosts widespread Ni-Cu-PGE mineralisation in disseminated to matrix and stringer sulphides.

In 2023 Raiden released an updated resource for Mt Sholl of 40.4Mt @ 0.45% Ni_Eq or 1.17% Cu_Eq containing 183.2kt of Ni metal, 473.0kt copper metal and 300,972oz of Pd+Pt+Au at 0.15% Ni_Eq cut-off. Raiden also released an Exploration Target for Mt Sholl of 80–150Mt at a grade range of 0.45% – 0.75% Ni_Eq or 1.15% – 1.95% Cu_Eq.
